Quest · Chapter I
Speak with Koltira Deathweaver in the sewer below the Violet Hold in Dalaran.
The letter carries no seal. Koltira wrote to you as himself, not as an officer of the Ebon Blade, and he chose his meeting place for its lack of witnesses.
Whatever is wrong with the saronite, and with Thassarian, he isn't ready to tell Mograine. He'll tell you.
One weapon for your role, taken at the end of Chapter I. It grows with every chapter, becomes a legendary in Phase 4 and wakes in Phase 5.
Five phases, one story
Saronite wagons roll out from below Naxxramas, and a helpful magister in Dalaran points you at them.
IIIn Ulduar, Brann learns what saronite really is. Thassarian seems to be slipping, and Koltira watches him.
IIIInto Ahn'kahet with the nerubian rebels. Burn the brood, or bind it.
IVThe Ashen Verdict, the legendary forgings, and a play for the Frozen Throne.
VSomething lives on in your weapon, and the Twilight dragonflight wants it.
About a month, a week at a time
A new episode every week for about a month. Every step works solo or with up to three players, and raid kills are only shortcuts.
Built by the whole realm
In the Shadow Vault's courtyard in Icecrown, Koltira's camp grows with every tempering anyone on the realm makes. Each goal reached is announced to the whole server.
A book of the story in the client, opened with /saga or its blood-red rune on the minimap: the chapters and their quests, your blade and its stage, the camp, and one page that stays sealed for now.
The Dungeon Finder is here from the first day, for grouping and travel. Its daily bonus pays no emblems until Patch 3.3, when it replaced the dailies, so it never doubles the era's income.
The Argent Tournament grounds fill up: 584 valiants, champions, quartermasters and training targets appear with the phase. Until then the grounds stand empty, as if still being prepared.
The Coliseum's people arrive on the tournament grounds, and the Black Knight joins the heroic daily rotation.
The Ashen Verdict's forces gather before the citadel, and the Silver Covenant's and Sunreavers' envoys come for Quel'Delar.
The story's last chapter: the weapons carried since Phase 1 wake as their owners' own.
Where Blizzard stopped, Tales of Wrath keeps going: quests, dungeons, raids and story after the Lich King, in Wrath's own style and canon, with our own characters where the story has room. This part of the road is still being written.
Until its patch arrives
The gate of Icecrown Citadel on the test realm in Phase 1. A raid of a later phase stays shut until its patch arrives.
Choose a tier, then take on Burdens. Each one raises the Judgment.
THE LAST BOSS PAYS
The item carries its run, as a Mythic+ keystone level would: blue, gold from +8, orange from +12. Everyone who sees it or its link sees how it was earned.
Melee hits can freeze a nearby hero in an Ice Tomb.
Melee hits can wrap the victim in Encasing Webs.
Hits spill Blood of the Loa; defenders standing in it heal for the damage they deal.
Defenders call Mirror Images that rain Arcane Missiles.
Melee hits can infect the victim with the Plague.
Titan energy pulses every 6 seconds, and each pulse tips the fight further.
After each boss, the image of a Keeper of Ulduar appears and offers every hero a choice of three boons for the rest of the run. Take two of one Keeper's boons and that Keeper grants an Ascension, with its own look and voice.
Hover over a boon, or tap it, to read it as the game shows it.
Each tier opens when the one before it is cleared. Foes grow tougher with each, and with each hero in the party.
Tier 4, Unholy Reinforcements. A lesser foe more beside every pack.
Tier 6, Frozen Ground. Casters and every boss cast Death and Decay.
Tier 8, Saronite Fury. Elites and every boss enrage at 30% health.
His rank grows with every coffer you claim, each rank adding health and damage. At rank 3 he raises Anti-Magic Zone when the party is hurt; at rank 5, Army of the Dead.
Every run's coffer pays Ebon Blade reputation, gold and heroic emblems. Once a week it holds a piece of gear you can wear, up to an item level 200 epic at tiers 7 and 8.
Wyrmrest Temple: Scourge Pressure 55%
The front's panel sits at the top of the screen, where the game shows a zone's objectives. When the assault comes, the hub is flagged on your map.
| Zone | Hub | From level |
|---|---|---|
| Borean Tundra | Unu'pe | 68 |
| Howling Fjord | Kamagua | 68 |
| Dragonblight | Wyrmrest Temple | 71 |
| Zul'Drak | The Argent Stand | 74 |
| The Storm Peaks | K3 | 77 |
| Icecrown | The Argent Vanguard | 77 |
Set the dungeon difficulty to Heroic at level 80 and the old dungeons come back at Wrath's level, as Blizzard brought back the Deadmines in Cataclysm. Every foe is level 80, every boss drops an emblem, and the old gear returns as its item level 200 heroic version, with the same name and look: 266 items in all.
The client's green "Heroic" line, as Wrath's own heroic gear shows it.
The journal Blizzard added in Cataclysm, for every Northrend dungeon and raid: each boss's story, model, abilities marked by role, and loot as this phase drops it. It's written from this realm's own boss scripts, so it describes the fights as they're played here. Open it with Shift-J.
A second chance at a raid boss's loot, as Mists of Pandaria's bonus rolls. Earn up to three a week from Incursions, Reorigination's last bosses, the Scourge Front and the raid weekly. After a raid boss, a window offers the roll; it's only ever for loot you can use. A miss pays 25 and raises the next chance until you win:
At 450, each crafting profession offers three paths. Pick one, then grow it through five ranks over a few weeks of crafting and daily Masterwork Orders, which pay 15 each, 30 from rank 4. Switching paths costs 100, doubling each time up to 1,600. A new tab on the profession window holds it all.
Consumables, gems and trade goods. Crafts can make an extra one or refund a reagent.
Bags, shirts, tabards and toys, with three recipes of its own. The Masterpiece is announced to the realm.
Weapons and armour. Torn Mastery Patterns drop for you; five make a Lost Pattern and a rare recipe.
A small second talent tree, a side tab of the Talents window. Points come from what all of your characters have done together: achievements, exploring the four continents, milestones and quests. It never touches combat power.
Each shield shows the most points that source can give: 22 in all, for a tree of 18 ranks.

Build 12340, the last patch of Wrath.
Copy patch-enUS-4.MPQ into the client's Data\enUS folder, and delete the client's Cache folder so the new item data shows.
In Data\enUS\realmlist.wtf, set set realmlist to the address the GM gives you, then log in.
The realm works without it, but these windows, the login screen and the new items' looks come with it:

The site can't send e-mail just now.
No e-mail on your account, or none arrives? Ask the team in the game: a GM can give you a code, which works for a day.
